Today we are releasing Files Preview v4.0.15 for users of the preview version.

An update icon should be displayed in the top right corner of the app for existing users, while new users can get started from our download page. Additionally, you can help support the project by purchasing Files on the Microsoft Store or by sponsoring us on GitHub. Your support is greatly appreciated but entirely optional.

What’s New in Files v4.0.15

Settings

  • Added an option under Appearance settings to hide the status bar.

Fixes

  • Fixed an issue where process details weren’t displayed when deleting folders with open files.
  • Fixed an issue with dragging files onto shortcuts targeting scrips (such as batch files).
  • Fixed an issue where the Ctrl+C shortcut overrode the TextBlock copy behavior in the Details Pane.
  • Fixed an issue where incorrect actions were displayed in the Recycle Bin context menu.
  • Fixed an issue where Columns View was incorrectly enabled for Recycle Bin.
  • Fixed an issue where opening new columns in Columns View didn’t always scroll them into view.
